SCSI Toolbox Storage Test Suite supports NLE Manufacturing/QC and Field Maintenance

LITTLETON, COLORADO – July 5, 2005 - SCSI Toolbox, LLC introduces a storage test suite for the Media & Entertainment Industry that enables NLE and Multimedia Server Manufacturers, integrators and field service organizations to lower costs and improve uptime by testing and maintaining SCSI, iSCSI and Fibre Channel drives for production/post-production.

For Field Maintenance & Repair applications SCSItoolbox:
o Configures, tests and optimizes drives, adjusting settings and configurations for maximum performance for single stream and multi I/O video quality
o Downloads current firmware, sets & optimizes mode pages

For Equipment Rental applications SCSItoolbox:
o Erases and optimizes disks for re-deployment, i.e. deleting all content from disks, allowing disks to be put back into a pool for use on other projects.

For Manufacturing/QC applications SCSItoolbox:

o Sets up and tests many drives simultaneously, measuring independent test threads and data throughput
o Downloads test steps and results to an Access Database, supporting historical database tracking of every drive that is tested prior to deployment, and throughout its entire lifecycle

SCSItoolbox Media Storage Test Suite was designed for ease to use, speed and is highly portable for field use. All processes and test sequences are created from a graphical user interface – no programming or scripting is required. A simple point-and-click interface allows complex sequences of tests to be assembled in minutes, and with many pre-defined test sequences included for Media applications, test lines can be up and running quickly. Time from set-up to a complete test process can be as little as 5 minutes.

SCSItoolbox Media Storage Test Suite includes a Manufacturing Module, including a complete high volume manufacturing/reliability test/burn-in test system for both disks and tapes. Each drive, on up to 16 host bus adapters, has its own independent test thread for the highest data throughput and least interaction with other devices under test.

In addition, test sequences can be run via calls to the Developers Toolbox, a Windows and Linux API, and also through a “GUI-less” command-line interface. This allows any test sequence to be seamlessly incorporated into any existing test process.
